DIY project for the GRID tied inverter is not for those that do not have ample electric/electronic knowledge.
and unless you have that capability then it is possible.
I have designed power supplies as an Electronic Design Engineer.
The GRID tied inverter is a special design that have many requirements to avoid shorts, and as well problems when the GRID disappears -- which forces the inverter to disconnect in a known time as defined by the electrical specifications of equipment that are allowed to be connected to the GRID.
It is a very high desired project to do but not really easy to "perform"
12vdc has the most gadgets available for it, but it can need some
seriously sized copper wires between the battery and inverter (keep them
short and fat) and to heavy power loads, like pumps.
I'm upgrading my house from 12v to 24v, but the concepts are identical,
just the wiring sizes are smaller at the higher voltage.
2000 watts / 12v = 166 amps
2000 watts / 24v = 83 amps
