Been busy "projecting" around the house and "work" so very little time to post. Just got my hands on an "oid" 10-1 with a  10kw gen head (I think it was). several years old sitting in a garage un-started and un mounted new condition!. I also have a 20-2 with a 15 kw gen head in the same condition. I'm on Long Island in NY, according to my electric bill I use about 900kwh a month.. Yea I've changed all the bulbs to cf's or led's got new window ac units with energy star ratings of 10.? or better I dont use it as refrig usually 75 or so to dry it out mostly, bedroom colder for sleeping 65-68. I want to do a CHP system, my present boiler is about 97kbtu's and it handles the heat and hot water no problem. I'm wondering if the 10-1 will suite my needs (as I think the 20-2 is overkill) I want to go as off grid as possible. I have a connection to get used UPS batteries for the scrap cost, so will be integrating those as they become available and I have the cash. And I would like to grid tie for back up also (possibly even feed some back!)  Your thoughts are welcome and appreciated. (And yes the other one has a home on my buddies tree farm he's been begging me for it since I got it)
